About Gelu Muresan – Gellu
Artist, painter, graphic artist and animator, designer and cartoonist, film director
Gelu Muresan (January 11, 1944 – April 26, 2010) was a prominent Romanian artist, painter, sculptor, graphic artist and animator, designer and cartoonist, film director, scenarist, journalist, filmmaker and writer. He signed almost all his art works with his pen name “gellu” or “Gellu”.
Born in Timisoara, Gelu Muresan graduated from the University of Plastic Arts of Timisoara in 1965. In 1969 he moved to Bucharest where he continued to pursue his passion for plastic arts and experimental films. As a result he became a known journalist and filmmaker as well.
