01 — Biography

A life
in art.

T’Alyne is an American artist whose work grows from close observation of the natural world. Born in Colorado and raised during her formative years in Michigan, she developed a lasting fascination with water, shifting light and the patterns through which energy moves. Her practice encompasses painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media.

She studied printmaking and foundry at Arizona State University, earning undergraduate degrees and an MFA. International residencies became an important part of her development, taking her to CAMAC and Atelier Fourwinds in France, as well as the Vermont Studio Center and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts in the United States.

Her exhibition history includes presentations at the Toledo Museum of Art, Grand Rapids Art Museum and SITE: Brooklyn. Teaching, visiting-artist projects and public-art activity extend her interest in creativity beyond the studio. Across these settings, her work encourages a more attentive relationship with the environment.

Today, T’Alyne works from a solar-powered, off-grid home and studio in southern Colorado. Environmental responsibility informs both her daily life and her art. She is represented by Studio 54 Fine Art and participates in Life is Beautiful, the gallery’s four-artist exhibition launching on 10 October 2026.

02 — Artistic practice

Nature as a moving relationship.

T’Alyne uses colour, line and repeated marks to suggest natural processes rather than describe a fixed view. Her materials include powdered pigment and water-based varnish on fibreglass paper and wood, connecting a sensitivity to surface with an interest in light and change.

Water is a recurring point of departure: its movement, transformations and capacity to reflect its surroundings. Abstraction becomes a way to consider the relationship between an individual and the wider ecology that sustains them.
